Cher is 64-years old. She showed up at the MTV Awards Show on September 12, 2010 wearing the same outfit she wore 20 years ago. Click here to see Cher and a recap.

Many of us would be glad if last year’s clothes fit us. So how does the “oldest woman with the biggest hair and the smallest costume” (Cher’s words) stay fit?

Cher is certainly an icon. She’s done it all from music to younger men, to cosmetic surgery. There have been rumors that Cher had a rib taken out to make her waist smaller. There have been rumors that she’s had a body lift. Who cares? It is obvious that she’s had work done on her face but to be able to fit into the same costume as she did when she was 44-years old is an accomplishment. If anyone could do it, the sexy and talented Cher could pull it off.

Cher is a huge yoga and Pilates fan.  You might want to read Lose weight by practicing yoga. Yoga is a perfect exercise for everyone, but older people can certainly take advantage of keeping their balance which is lost as we get older and staying flexible. There is a saying in yoga that we are only as old as our spine is flexible. I wouldn’t doubt if Cher’s spine twinges now and then, but she keeps up with her workouts which shows in her dance routines.

Yoga may also be the reason that Cher’s stomach isn’t bloated (OK and a tummy tuck) and that her skin glows.

Essentially Pilates offers the same benefits. Pilates, like yoga, keeps Cher focused and centered. They both energize ones body. It wouldn’t be surprising if Cher does some downward facing dogs and deep breathing before she goes on stage.
